1. Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Klarr platform and services ("Service"). This policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.

By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violation of this policy may result in suspension or termination of your account.

2. Permitted Use

The Service is designed for legitimate business purposes, including:

  • Managing inventory, products, and stock levels
  • Tracking customers, suppliers, and business relationships
  • Processing and managing sales and purchase orders
  • Generating invoices and business reports
  • Integrating with authorised third-party business tools

You may only use the Service for lawful purposes and in accordance with these guidelines.

3. Prohibited Activities

You must not use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation
  • Conduct fraudulent business activities
  • Facilitate money laundering or terrorist financing
  • Evade taxes or engage in tax fraud
  • Traffic in illegal goods or services

3.2 Harmful Content

  • Store, transmit, or distribute content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
  • Upload malware, viruses, worms, or any malicious code
  • Distribute spam, phishing content, or unsolicited communications
  • Store or distribute child exploitation material (this will be reported to authorities)

3.3 Privacy and Security Violations

  • Collect personal information without proper consent or legal basis
  • Store sensitive personal information (such as government IDs, financial account numbers, health records) without appropriate security measures
  • Attempt to access accounts or data belonging to other users
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the Service

3.4 Intellectual Property Violations

  • Infringe on copyrights, trademarks, patents, or other intellectual property rights
  • Use the Service to distribute pirated or counterfeit goods
  • Upload content you do not have the right to use

3.5 System Abuse

  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks
  • Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service without authorisation
  • Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service
  • Overload or flood the Service with excessive requests
  • Bypass usage limits or quotas

3.6 Misrepresentation

  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Falsely claim affiliation with any person or organisation
  • Provide false or misleading information when registering or using the Service
  • Create fake accounts or use the Service under false pretences

3.7 Resale and Redistribution

  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service without our written consent
  • Use the Service to build a competing product or service
  • Access the Service through third-party applications not authorised by us

4. Data Responsibilities

4.1 Your Data Obligations

You are responsible for:

  • Ensuring all data you upload is accurate and lawfully obtained
  • Maintaining appropriate backups of your critical business data
  • Complying with privacy laws when storing customer or supplier information
  • Obtaining necessary consents before uploading personal information of third parties

4.2 Data Types

The Service is designed for business operational data. You should not use the Service to store:

  • Highly sensitive personal information (medical records, biometrics, etc.)
  • Payment card data (PCI-DSS scope data)
  • Government-issued identification numbers in bulk
  • Classified or controlled government information

If your business requires storage of sensitive data, contact us to discuss appropriate security measures.

5. Account Security

5.1 Your Responsibilities

You must:

  • Use strong, unique passwords for your account
  • Enable two-factor authentication when available
  • Keep your login credentials confidential
  • Promptly report any suspected unauthorised access
  • Log out of shared or public devices

5.2 Prohibited Account Behaviour

You must not:

  • Share account credentials with unauthorised individuals
  • Use shared or generic accounts for multiple users (use individual user accounts instead)
  • Attempt to access other users' accounts
  • Sell, transfer, or rent your account to third parties

6. Third-Party Integrations

When connecting third-party services:

  • You are responsible for reviewing and accepting their terms
  • You must only connect legitimate, authorised accounts you control
  • You must not use integrations to circumvent third-party service restrictions
  • You acknowledge that third-party services have their own terms and policies

7. Resource Usage

7.1 Fair Use

While we aim to provide generous usage allowances, excessive resource consumption that impacts other users or Service stability is prohibited.

7.2 Usage Limits

Your subscription plan includes specified limits on storage, API calls, and other resources. If you exceed these limits, we may:

  • Notify you and request an upgrade
  • Temporarily restrict certain features
  • Apply overage charges as specified in your plan

If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to:

9. Enforcement

9.1 Investigation

We may investigate suspected violations of this AUP. During investigation, we may:

  • Review account activity and content
  • Suspend access to the Service
  • Preserve evidence for legal proceedings

9.2 Consequences

Violations of this AUP may result in:

  • Warning and request for corrective action
  • Temporary suspension of account access
  • Permanent termination of account
  • Reporting to law enforcement (for illegal activities)
  • Legal action to recover damages

9.3 Appeal

If you believe enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by contacting support@klarr.co within 14 days.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the Service or via email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
